Baltimore, MD – Concert Artists of Baltimore (CAB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tonya McBride Robles as its new Executive Director. In partnership with Artistic Director Edward Polochick and under the guidance of Board President Barry Williams, Ms. Robles will lead all administrative functions of CAB.
Barry Williams stated, “Concert Artists of Baltimore is excited to welcome Tonya. Her experience and vision, along with her infectious enthusiasm, will help reintroduce CAB to the Baltimore community as we bring the operations of the organization in line with our outstanding artistic product.”
Ms. Robles has two decades of worldwide experience leading nonprofit organizations in operations, marketing, development, public relations, and education. Prior to joining CAB, Robles had stints as Executive Director at the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and The City Choir of Washington (DC); Managing Director of The Metropolitan Chorus (Arlington, VA) and the Ocean Park Association (Ocean Park, ME). Robles headed the Education Department at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra during a period of significant growth and served in a similar capacity for the San Antonio (TX) Symphony. Robles holds a Bachelor of Music Education and Performer’s Certificate in Voice from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Maryland University College European Division. While at Peabody, she sang for four years under the direction of Maestro Polochick in the choral program.
“Bringing Tonya to Concert Artists of Baltimore is a result of great timing, for her and for CAB,” explained Edward Polochick. Agreed Robles, “It’s fantastic to be reunited with Ed – I’ve always had the utmost respect for him as a conductor, and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to work with a true professional.”
After nearly twenty years of worldwide travel and moving as the spouse of an officer in the U.S. Navy, Robles is back in Baltimore with her family after their final military move. She and her husband reside in Roland Park with their son, a student at Roland Park Middle School.
Founded by Edward Polochick and now in its 28th season, Concert Artists of Baltimore (CAB) consists of a professional chamber orchestra and professional chamber chorus.
